Coppicing with Park Work

Following a successful BCC bid to the WECA Green Recovery Fund, £1 million is now in place for a Managing for Nature programme across Bristol aiming to manage 30% of green space for nature by 2030.

The programme includes new grass-cutting practices to increase plant, insect and other wildlife diversity; river and woodland restoration works, and developing more volunteering and skills in nature conservation. More on this project as it progresses...

We have also started coppicing again with Park Work by the stream. It's great exercise (as much or as little as you want), huge fun and it makes a big difference to opening up the woodland and stream - and ultimately the ornamental ponds - and making them healthier.

Coppicing will take place every Friday from 29 November up to Christmas. Meet at the Kiosk at 1pm. Its slippery work so wear good shoes. Some tools provided but wear gloves.
